You are in sales….WHAT’S WRONG WITH THAT?

I have been in sales my entire professional career. I could not see my self doing anything else. I once heard someone say “If you want to get rich the only two ways are to sell something or own something.”

All throughout my sales career I have met thousands of sales professionals from around the world. The truth of the matter is most of the sales people I meet are weak. For some reason people have decided that being in sales is something to be ashamed of. They say things like “I am not a salesman I am a consultant or I am an advisor.” I have heard countless people in sales say “I don’t like to SELL people, I let them make their own decision on their own time frame”

These types of statements really upset me. Being in sales is one of the most admirable career paths one could take. As a sales professional you are the driving force of our economy, you help create jobs, and you solve your clients problems. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of those attributes of a sales person.

If you don’t feel that your products do ALL 3 of the above mentioned (Create Jobs, Solve Problems, and Drive the economy) then you need to go sell a product you believe in or get out of sales all together. Call it what it is, YOU ARE IN SALES…..
